Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this guide has everything you need to elevate your tattooing experience with TattStencil.

Gallery

The Gallery acts as a central workspace for artists to oversee their tattoo projects. It allows for the naming/creation, searching and deletion of stencil artboards, facilitating more efficient project organization. Here the you can seamlessly access the Info page within the app, enabling you to engage with social media channels, submit ideas or issues, access printer supplies, and view the in-app guide without leaving the interface. This integration enhances your accessibility and ensures all necessary resources are easy to access and readily available.

Stencil Tab

In the Stencil Tab, users can convert their original images into printable tattoo stencils. You can fine-tune the conversion process by adjusting settings for Sharpness, Intensity, and Darkness. Additionally, you can utilize the Apple Pencil to draw and erase parts of the stencil, ensuring precise customization. This tab serves as the preparation stage before printing, allowing you to refine your stencil before moving to the Printer Tab for printing.

Printer Tab

In the Printer Tab, you have the flexibility to print one of three options: the original image, the original image with the overlay, and the generated stencil. You can manipulate the image by flipping, rotating, and resizing it to fit up to sixteen standard sheets of paper, enabling the creation of a large stencil suitable for various body parts like the torso, leg, or arm. Additionally, you can align the image to a grid with inch measurements for precise placement. It's important to remember to turn off the "print front and back option" after pressing “print” to ensure each paper comes out by itself and not on the back of another sheet that you need.

Refrence Tab

The Reference Tab is the focal point of tattoo artists' work within the app and where you’ll find yourself spending most of your time during your procedure. This is the most versatile workspace for optimal creativity and precision for tattoo artists today. Here, you can seamlessly view and manipulate two different references, adjusting them for better visibility. Each side of the tab presents a choice of five elements: the original image, the overlay, the generated stencil, customizable shades for black and grey reference, and the option for a custom reference image. You can flip, center, resize, and lock the position of the images in sync to customize your workspace, ensuring a tailored experience. Additionally, the top bar provides convenient access to an oversized clock, appointment timer/rate calculator, and music controls, allowing artists to multitask seamlessly and focus on their art. This innovative workspace sets a new standard in the industry, offering unparalleled functionality and efficiency for all tattoo artists.

Palette

TattStencil’s Color Isolation feature takes your tattoo artistry to the next level by giving you total control over the colors you use. Access it in the Stencil tab by tapping the “Palette” button at the top-right corner. Once open, you’ll see automatically generated swatches derived directly from your original or imported image, providing a perfect starting point.

Fine-Tune Your Palette
Within this panel, you’ll find several powerful options:

  • Eraser Mask: Hide unwanted parts of your image to focus solely on the areas that matter using the eraser tool.

  • Skin Tone Filter: This feature allows you to filter out skin tones from the autogenerated palette.
